Dicer is a computer program for performing single cell sorting by
the "Slice And Dice" method, devised by Geoffrey Osborne at the
Queensland Brain Institute, for maximal sampling of the diversity
of cellular populations (to see how, go to the
method page). It functions by controlling a cell
sorter of the BDTM inFluxTM or
JazzTM series. A simulator program is also
available that simulates Dicer-style sorting while reading data
from a pre-recorded (.fcs) data file, thus facilitating evaluation
of the method for particular projects.
The simulator can be downloaded free for permanent use in
evaluating the Dicer function. For trialling the method in a
functional system, download a functional copy of Dicer for a
30 day free trial. To retain Dicer after the trial, a
licence fee is required (see https://eshop.uniquest.com.au/dicer/).
